Magna Mater Exhibition w/ Twelve Thirty Four Flowers

This is a collection of art inspired by nature, Earth, feminine power, rebirth, and the beauty of our world. Some works focus on the power of the sun (which is a common theme in my paintings) or the elegant nature of a dew drop on a petal. As an artist I love to paint the range of the beauty that exists in this nature, to me they’re all tied together in this world, and they all say something unique.

Inspired by the ancient archetype of the Magna Mater, the Great Mother, these works delve deep into the primal forces that shape existence, celebrating the nurturing and creative energies that flow through all living things.

The Magna Mater, or Great Mother, has a rich and multifaceted history spanning cultures and civilizations throughout the ages. Originating in ancient Anatolia, her worship spread across the Mediterranean world, becoming integral to the religious practices of the Greeks and Romans. Known by various names such as Cybele, Rhea, or Gaia, she symbolized the generative and nurturing aspects of the natural world, embodying fertility, abundance, and the cycles of life and death.
